I’ve been meaning to write in public for a while. This is the start of that.
Why now
Most of what I think about doesn’t fit neatly into a commit message or a set change. I spend my days building backend systems and a surprising amount of the time in between thinking about how we actually build software — the shape of good architecture, and how AI is quietly rewriting that shape. Writing is how I plan to work some of that out where other people can see it — and hopefully push back on it.
What you’ll find here
Roughly two threads:
- Engineering — backend architecture, AI-native development with tools like Claude Code and Codex, and the practices that keep systems resilient under real load.
- Tooling & practice — the meta layer: how I set up my environment, the guardrails I use with AI coding agents, and what actually holds up over time.
How this site works
This blog is built with Astro and the Astro Paper theme, and deployed for free. Adding a post is just dropping a Markdown file in a folder and pushing to Git — which is exactly the kind of low-friction setup that makes it likely I’ll actually keep writing.
More soon.
